Taking a Break
Finally, I’ve started summer for good.
It has been both a long and short semester. I can remember back to the first few days where I was just finishing up building my own desk and all the events in between.

Now I can finally relax. I do not have any last assignments to finish, and I don’t have any more exams.

Now I have a little less than a month before my internship starts.
Working on Skills
So now what will I do with my time? I definitely do want to relax but for me, that time period can only last so long before I get bored of just relaxing.
I want to continue developing my skills this summer like sketching, watercolor, and also some digital work and programs.

Something I’ve already started and now have more time for is studying for the licensure exams.
I think it would be great to get a head start on preparing for these because it deepens my knowledge, but also helps me to become a better designer as I would know what all actually has to be included when designing.
Stress-Free
Another good part about having this break is that I’m not under the stress of facing so many deadlines.
Back in high school, I would mainly do my homework on Sunday nights and have Friday and Saturday free without a worry.
This semester, that all changed. I’ve never had so many time crunches as I did this year. there have been times where I’ve had class, and then I needed to drive an hour to the WAAC to work on a project among many other things.

My weekends were always full. Especially during competition weeks. I spent every minute that I possibly could working on those one week projects and it was completely exhausting.

Every now and then it is good to take breaks, but I know that by doing this, I am challenging myself and pushing myself to expand my limits. So I will be looking forward to what is to come because I know I will continue to strive for excellence.
Thanks for tuning into this week’s blog post, I hope you enjoyed it. Feel free to leave any comments or thoughts. As always, Dream Big!
