Traveling In Chicago

Today’s Topics:

  • Morning Commute

So far I’ve been in Chicago for a little over two weeks and am really enjoying my experience. I live in West Town Chicago and travel downtown everyday to get to work.

My journey starts off with a short walk to get on the subway taking me into The Loop. In Chicago all of the lines converge to this central location intersecting, and then spreading out to varying locations within the city.

Getting off the subway and walking out of the building, as soon I step outside I’m immersed into the urban realm with skyscrapers and high rise buildings surrounding me. There are people moving all around taking their similar journeys into work.

My favorite part of traveling in the morning is getting to walk along the Chicago riverwalk. I really enjoy the scale of the. It’s particularly along this strip. The pictures do not do this justice it is truly amazing. Each building has its own story to contribute to the context of this location making it what it is.

There are so many layers of the city to explore as well. The transportation system underground is of the same importance of the massive buildings above. You can take the bus, ride the train, take your car underneath the city, walk, take the river taxi.

Capping off my morning commute is walking up to The Wrigley Building, a beacon of Chicago defining the elegance of the expanding city.

This is where I work, a place with a historical background in the heart of Chicago with amazing views throughout the city.

Thanks for traveling with me this morning on my way to work.

Thanks for tuning into this week’s blog post, leave a comment on something you enjoy about Chicago! As always, Dream Big!

  1. So nice! Thanks for taking us with you on your morning commute. 🙂 The buildings are beautiful and riverwalks are always a delight! Augusta has one and I still have fond memories of going to that riverwalk. I’ve never been to Chicago, but if given a chance to go, I’m certain I’d like the Chicago riverwalk too. Enjoy your time there!

  2. Oh, how interesting! Thanks for sharing. The writing was so clear I could see you traveling every step of the way. I am happy that you are enjoying your Chicago experience.
